Here they are, some of our favorite moths. We hope you enjoy the details and beauty that mother nature bestowed upon each and every one. There are hundreds more where these came from, but we didn't want to overwhelm you! These moths have captured our hearts and we thought that you would find them intriguing as well, so we decided to make them the subject of our next interactive blog. So here is your mission: rank these moths in order of size, starting with the smallest and ending with the largest, or just let us know which one you think is the biggest! We've numbered and named them to make things easier, but please keep in mind that these names are a result of our imagination and have no scientific relevance whatsoever. Enjoy their beauty and good luck in determining their size!

Beautiful! Just Beautiful! As Ali just said, "I always thought of Moths as ugly butterflies til now". Thanks so much for sharing. It helped cheer us up a bit tonight too.. as we're dealing with the loss of our new doggie today. R.I.P. Quique. : (
ReplyDeleteMiss you! Hope you're both doing well and still having a blast! XOXO ~Ki & Ali
I'm going to guess that the Magical Emperor is the biggest and that Mr. mole face is the smallest. Am I close??
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing Mr. Smith is the biggest and the emerald princess is the smallest! My favorite is Brown Eyed Pig, haha he totally does look like a pig!
ReplyDeleteMr. Moleface looks like a creeper. I am not good with sizes and judgement and the like. So I am interacting by saying, again, that Mr. Moleface looks like a real creeper, maybe even a lurper.
ReplyDeleteI think the Emerald Princess is the biggest but then again I thin the teddy bear could be the biggest OR the smallest. They are all beautiful in their own way and I am sure each one is "a very nice ......"
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see all 1000+ photos of the Costa Rican moth population ;-)
Mom
I used to collect butterflies and moths as a kid, and I never saw any like these, very cool. My guess in order of smallest to largest is: 6, 2, 4 5, 3 8,7, 1. I like the beautiful colors of the Emerald Princess the best, Mr. Moleface has a unique shape, the Magical Emperor has very interesting colors and textures, but my fave is the Teddy Bear Warrior. Looking forward to seeing more of your moth pics. Love you.
